If you haven’t yet decided how to spend your New Year’s Eve this year, there are a few great events going on in Southern Maryland that you might want to catch. Here are a few options to kick off 2019:

New Year’s Eve Rewind: An 80’s Celebration

Where: MGM National Harbor | 101 MGM National Ave, Oxon Hill, MD

When: NYE | 10:30PM – 1:30AM

 

This New Year’s Eve in Oxon Hill, they’re turning back the clock a few decades to celebrate all things 80’s. At the MGM National Harbor, you can eat, play, and even stay at their resort while ringing in 2019. At their all-night party, you can enjoy a feast from Fish by José Andrés and Voltaggio Brothers Steakhouse while listening to music from some special guests. 80’s icon, Tiffany, will be there performing her hit “I Think We’re Alone Now”, 80’s cover band, The Reflex, will be playing some of the best 80’s favorites, and they’ll finish off with DJ Shelley spinning more classics into the night. They’ll have a Dom Pérignon champagne party at Felt Bar & Lounge with a year-end toast, a live DJ, and gaming. At their Blossom Cocktail Lounge, guests can watch the ball drop in real time across different time zones. Be sure to wear your high top sneakers and shoulder pads for this 80s-style New Year’s celebration.

 

Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa New Years Eve Party

Where: Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa | 4165 Mears Ave, Chesapeake Beach, MD

When: NYE | Cosmic Bingo: 6:00PM-1:00AM | NYE Party with The NoWhere Men: 9:00PM-1:00AM

 

At the Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa, they’re giving you two different ways to ring in the new year. They’ll be hosting a $5,000 New Years Eve Cosmic Bingo event, where you can grab your seat and bingo the night away. Doors open at 6PM with a session starting at 8:15PM. If dancing and music are more your thing, the resort will also host a New Year’s Eve Party with The NoWhere Men. This popular horns band from Hyattsville, MD formed back in the 60s and will be reuniting to perform some of their best soul covers. Expect covers of Blood, Sweat and Tears, The Temptations, James Brown, The Guess Who, and The Righteous Brothers. This NYE party will have you stepping back in time, and will include a champagne toast and party favors to make the night complete.

Vera’s 80’s Dance Party – New Year’s Eve Bash

Where: Vera’s Restaurant and Marina | 1200 White Sands Drive, Lusby, MD

When: NYE | 7:00PM-3:00AM

 

If you’re near Calvert County this New Year’s Eve, consider spending it at Vera’s Restaurant and Marina in Lusby. They’ll be hosting Vera’s 80’s Dance Party New Year’s Eve Bash all night. They’ll host New Romance, a band voted #1 in the area. This party goes into the early hours of 2019, with party favors and a champs breakfast at 1AM. You can buy your tickets ahead for a discount or purchase at the door the night of the event.

2018 New Year’s Eve – Solomons Holiday Inn

Where: Holiday Inn Solomons-Conf Center & Marina | 155 Holiday Dr., Solomons, MD

When: NYE | 7:00PM – 1:00AM

 

Down in Solomons Island, you can spend your New Year’s Eve at the Holiday Inn NYE Party. Put on by both the Holiday Inn and Isaac’s Pub & Restaurant, the party will be complete with music by Dreamscope Entertainment starting at 8:30PM. Your ticket to the event includes Hors D’oeuvres, an Italian Buffet dinner, delicious desserts, party favors, and a midnight champagne toast. They’ll have a cash bar, and you can save the hassle of commuting home with a room package to make your night a bit more relaxed.
